Flexible study Arabic courses at Qalam Center allow non beginner students (any student who has previously studied Arabic) to join courses on any Monday, year round and study for any course duration they choose.

If you are interested in spending a semester studying Arabic abroad for college credit, visit our Study Abroad Programs page.

Because Qalam Center offers 9 continuous levels of Arabic, starting every four weeks, there are always course levels corresponding to individual student needs.  Students must apply for their requested start date, course level and course duration using the enrollment application form.  Enrollment availability exists until the class is full (maximum class size, 8 students) so there are no application deadlines, however, it is advisable to register as far in advance as possible to ensure space in your desired time frame and level.  Because of this unique system, Qalam Center students are able to study with other students from around the world, from all different types of scholastic and professional backgrounds according to their specific scheduling and study needs.

Detailed Placement testing (both oral and written) on the first Monday of arrival, ensures that students are correctly placed in on-going classes with other students at their level.  There is absolutely no level mixing at Qalam Center.

There are two flexible study course options
            semi-intensive/20 hours per week
            intensive/30 hours per week

Flexible study program tuition costs are a flat rate of 1350dh (aprox $165) per week for semi-intensive courses or 1900dh (aprox $230) per week for intensive courses.  There are no registration fees or other course fees.  For complete information about Qalam Center fees and services visit our program fees page.

Beginner Students (students who have no previous experience studying Arabic) can also use the flex study program, however, they must choose a "beginner" start date.  There are beginner start dates every 4 weeks, year round.

Flexible Study Credit

It is possible to get credit for flexible study programs.  The credit requirements are a minimum of 4 weeks study per course and the only limitation is that students must choose from a "beginner" start date (ie. commencing their desired course level from the first day of class).  The credit is awarded by Brookhaven College, and application forms must be completed at least 8 weeks before the desired start date.  There are addiontional fees associated with getting Brookhaven Credit.
