As another opportunity to educate our students about the culture, history, religion, and lifestyle of the Arab world, Qalam wa Lawh regularly organizes guest lectures, round table discussions, Musical presentations, and special events.

Musical Showcase: The Oud

From time to time we invite guest muscians to come to the center to play their instruments and speak about their trades.  Our favorite of these such spectacles is the soothing and etherial music of the Oud.

Social Activities and Haflas

Social Activites are a nice break from the rigors of our academic programs.  By throwing haflas (the Arabic equivalent of a "fiesta") we celebrate our students' success, as well as, their with us.  And while we celebrate, we take another oppotunity to educate our students about Moroccan culture.

Guest Speakers

When we find students have a particular interest in topics regarding the politics, the religion, the culture, and the history of Morocco we often invite Guest speakers to create an educational roundtable discussion.  Lectures usually take place in English or else a translator is provided.
