Yale Arabic Summer 2017 in Rabat

The Arabic Program at Yale University offers intermediate and advanced courses in Modern Standard Arabic in Rabat, the capital of Morocco. This program is very rigorous and designed to improve students’ proficiency in aural and reading comprehension as well as in speaking and writing. It also aims to develop a strong understanding of the linguistic features of the Arabic language with emphasis on… comprehensive communication skills. Students will have 4 hours of MSA on a daily basis, along with 4 hours of Moroccan Arabic per week.

The aim of this program, in addition to the rigorous academic part, is to offer students an authentic experience living in an Arabic and Muslim country. Host families are provided. Students also will have the opportunity to participate in a range of cultural immersion activities – including cooking, calligraphy, dance and music sessions – in addition to hearing lectures from local experts. The program includes excursions to the south (Errachidia-Merzouga) and north (Tangier-Tetouan-Chefchaoun) of Morocco as well as visits to well-known cities, including , Ifrane, Fes, Meknes, Casablanca, Marrakesh, Essaouira, and Agadir.
